Description
Amosed-625 Tablets are formulated with Amoxycillin and Potassium Clavulanate, a widely used antibacterial combination designed to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Amoxycillin belongs to the penicillin group of antibiotics and works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the destruction of the bacteria.
However, certain bacteria produce enzymes known as beta-lactamases, which can inactivate antibiotics like amoxycillin. Clavulanic Acid, derived from potassium clavulanate, acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks these enzymes, thereby protecting amoxycillin from degradation and restoring its antibacterial activity.
The combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid provides a broader spectrum of antibacterial coverage against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This makes the formulation effective in the treatment of various infections affecting different parts of the body.
Amosed-625 Tablets are commonly prescribed for infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, ear, nose and throat (ENT), dental infections, and other bacterial infections. The tablets are film-coated for convenient administration and should be taken as directed by a qualified healthcare professional.
